Dressing like a Woman

The Heart Behind the Wardrobe

A Woman’s Wardrobe

I’ve always embraced being feminine.
But for most of my life, I didn’t give much thought to fashion.

I wasn’t super into style.
My mom picked out most of my clothes, and I just wore them.

In junior high, I definitely started dressing for the boys.
I pushed the edges of what I was allowed to wear.
(Shoutout to my strict parents for their boundaries—I see now what a gift that was.)

So yes—I was thinking about what my clothing said…
just not with the right mindset.

It wasn’t about expression, or dignity, or alignment.
It was about attention.
Trying to feel pretty, noticed, wanted.

In high school and college, I followed dress codes.
And after that? I dressed to look stylish—sometimes crossing the modesty line, but never as far as most.
I never wore bikinis or crop tops, and I didn’t feel comfortable baring much skin.
But like many young women, I measured modesty by comparison.
“Not as bad as most” was the bar.

I wasn’t asking the deeper questions yet.
Questions like:
Is this still modest when I sit down or bend over?
Does this reflect honor? Dignity? Self-respect?

That kind of awareness came slowly. Gently.
And once it did—it changed everything.

I came to see that modesty isn’t just about avoiding extremes.
It’s about choosing to carry yourself with intention.
Not being showy or revealing.
Being mindful in motion—not just in the mirror.

Modesty means being above reproach in the quiet details:
angles, movements, how clothing functions—not just how it fits.

At the same time, I began to rethink what it meant to be feminine.
Not just “girly” or “cute”—but distinctly womanly.

Dressing in a way that celebrates the beauty of being a woman.
Dressing in a way that honors the distinction between male and female.
Wearing clothing made for women—not styled after or intended for a man.
Not blending lines. Not confusing categories.
But embracing the softness, grace, and beauty that is uniquely ours.

There is beauty, strength, and dignity in embracing what it means to be a woman—
fully, intentionally, and without compromise.

And here’s something I believe we all instinctively know:

👗 Clothing is a uniform.

We’re all wearing one—whether we admit it or not.
Our clothes speak before we do.
They say something about who we are, what we value, and how we carry ourselves.

If you see someone in scrubs, you know they’re in healthcare.
If you see someone in military fatigues, you understand their role.
If you see someone in a long floral dress and a head covering, you understand what they treasure.
If you see someone scantily dressed, you understand the message.
If you see a flight attendant, you know what she does.
👉🏼 If you see someone in an orange jumpsuit… well, you know that story too.

Clothing speaks.

So I choose to dress with intention:

💫 Modestly—not to hide, but to walk in honor.
💫 Feminine—because I love being a woman.
💫 Comfortably—because peace should reach all the way to the skin.
💫 In natural fabrics—because I feel most grounded when I’m connected to what’s real.
💫 In alignment with how I was created—Carol Tuttle’s insights helped me give language to what I always felt: my clothing should reflect my essence.
💫 And I always love a little sparkle—because ✨ joy belongs in everyday life.

I’m drawn to tiny prints, eyelet, soft textures, romantic lace—ethereal dresses that feel light and graceful.
Flowy fabrics. Gentle details.
The kind of quiet beauty that doesn’t shout to be noticed.

I love pieces that seem to carry grace—like they belong to a story that’s peaceful and full of light.

I tend to fluctuate—sometimes reaching for comfort and warmth, other times for beauty and sparkle.

But always, I want to show up in a way that reflects what I believe—without ever saying a word.

Because clothing is more than fabric.

It’s a quiet kind of language.
